She had beautiful golden reflections, her dough was crispy, her scent filled the air, the king cake was, is, and will remain one of my favourite tradition.

I fall back in childhood when I eat this pastry made with cream of sweet almonds, butter, sugar... I remember a very small voice coming from the table. Faithful to tradition, I had the chance to distribute cake’s pieces to each guest and the porcelain bean, was most of the time voluntarily given to me.

On this occasion, I was choosing my Queen and I was wearing with a good pride the golden crown which projected me towards a promising future.

A moment of conviviality was given to us thanks to this old custom that we shared in family and our only concern was the food tasting time!

Original creations

Every year I look forward to the tasting of this pastry. At the beginning of January, I will be going just around the corner of my street, at the bakery to find the best cake in Paris.

As you know, I particularly appreciate the discovery of new creations. Each year, Epiphanie allows the greatest Parisian stores to highlight their talents.

The Dalloyau house, a French way of life with “avant-garde” creations has created a cake that I cannot forget the flavor. His great chefs had chosen an original shape, chiseled, contrasting with the traditional sphere. Its light and airy lamination reveals a chocolate beggar and a cream of almonds and hazelnuts, accompanied by a tasty orange jam.

Sweet and delicate flavour, the “Galette des Rois” is a childhood pastry whose the pleasure of tasting endures over time.
